Halo 3 - How to record and save a kill and take a screenshot? PLEASE HELP

OK..so I need help on this please..

I saved the film but when i go to edit the film..like to take a screenshot and record a kill it won't let me. Like, I can only press the play button and back button and pause..those kind..but the record and screenshot buttons arent "pressable".

Well thank you very much if someone could respond.
