Halo 3 Legendary map packs?

ok so my friend wanted me 2 have the legendary map pack for Halo 3 so he gave me one of his gamertags on xbl so i retreived it onto my system and went 2 market place and downloaded the legendary map pack. But now the map pack only works for his gamertag and i can't use it on any of my gamertags. y doesn't it work?

its a security barrier. you can't use his gamertag
