Halo 3 leveling up need help?

I know that you get +1 exp won a match, -1 if you loose, ect, but when you get them taked away does it show like -5 exp for example? or does it just show 0?

im not sure what you mean. but the best way to level up, is get the legendary map pack and play loads of team swat. this will get up ur highest skill. then after that you need to play social games to get exp. another gd highest skill game is lone wolves.
