HALO 3 ODST help. i SUCK?

hey all, i just began playing Halo 3 odst, and quite frankly, i suck online. ive never really been bad at FPS and im having alot of trouble getting used to halo.

whenever i try to beat someone down, it never works, i just swing my arms and it looks like i hit him, but he kills me

whenever i try to shoot someone, i can unload a clip on him, but it just doesnt kill him.

and whenever i try to sticky him or toss a 'nade at him he is always able to dodge it

can anyone give me some advice to help me pwn jewbs?

it could be connection

aim for the head

crouch in corners and assassinate someone

throw grenades to take out shield first
