Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST?

Which one should I get?

I know ODST is the newer one with co-op and all the maps and a new story mode, but I never owned any of the Halo games before, only played it a few times at firends house.

The thing is I could probobly get Halo 3 from a friend for $5-$10.

If I get ODST I would have to pay $50.

Is it worth it?

I would mostly be playing online and I would probobly want to get all the map packs which Halo 3 doesnt come with so that might cost extra,

so what I wanna know is in the end what is worth it more? Just getting Halo 3 for $5-$10 and buying all the extra map packs.

Or just getting ODST for $50 and having all the maps and co-op?

buy odst because the new campaign and firefight are really fun, plus u get everthing that halo 3 has except for the campaign and u get all th emaps ever made all 20 of theme

if u get halo, u will also not be able to get the new 3 maps EVER!
they are only avalable on the second odst disk and will only come on market place in a few years MABYE

Odst hands down.
sure ull miss out on the halo 3 campaign.
but with odst u gety campaign, $40 in new maps (plus 3 new ones unavailable in map packs) and the halo 3 multiplayer. besides the odst campaign is much more fun. o and lets not forget tha co-op firefight is amazing.

if you have never owned any you need to buy the first game Halo: Combat Evolved then buy Halo 2 then Halo 3:ODST Then Halo 3.

I don't think it is worth it. ODST has nothing to offer but the recon armor, maps, and campaign. If you are going to play live, you should buy Halo 3, as long as it is in good condition. Don't bother with the first two Halo games, they are nothing compared to the third. You can buy the extra maps much cheaper on Xbox Live marketplace, although I am not quite sure they are for sale yet, it is worth the wait.

If you do not plan on playing the Halo 3 campaign than you should buy ODST for sure. The campaign alone in that game is amazing, you will be able to play Firefight with all your friends, and you get every single Halo 3 map made + 3 bonus ones that aren't even downloadable yet.
