halo 3 question on online appearance on xbox 360?

my armor primary color is grey but when i play online its red or blue . what gamemode should i be in or what should i do to make it color grey when i play online?

it's a glitch. i use an Eltie Online and sometimes it shows the wrong Armour when i play him online

When you play a team game, it changes your color to the team color. In order to play as the grey color you want, play a free for all match, like Lone Wolves or Social Slayer, otherwise if it isn't free-for-all, you color will change according to the team.

teams are automatically red and blue in team matches unless you are multi teaming. play rumble pit or lone wolves to play as a grey guy
