Halo 3 question WHy are my two ranks different on the list?

WHy are my two ranks different on the list and then when they click on my profile it shows another rank (private) and it shows that i am (apprentice) help?

One is your overall rank based on Level. The other rank is based on how much XP you have in that playlist.

They changed the ranking system, so you will have an overall rank, and then sub ranks in the different game types in matchmaking.

one measures your total games and exp. and your highest lvl being displayed.
the other rank which is white in color shows your exp. in the certain playlist not your actually rank. it just shows how many games you won in that playlist.
