Halo 3 ranking question?

Okay so i have 90 exp points and to be a lieutenent grade 2 you need 85 exp points. yet im still a gunnery sergeant grade two. So shouldnt i hae moved up?

Your highest skill needs to go up a few points. This goes up by winning ranked matches. Depending on the playlist, your highest skill can go up in 2nd and 3rd place.
