Halo 3- skulls?

what do you do once you have a skull in habd?
~must you kill wwith it?
~Hold it throughout the whole mission?
~Die with it?

All you have to do is just pick it up and do whatever you want, you can quit the level if you desire.

If you are on co-op only 1 of you or your friends has to touch it to count for everyone.

just pick it up.... thats it if its a gold you get an achevement if its a silver you dont..

but its kool to kill ppl with them
