halo 3 veterans?

how do i get better at getting more kills?
this will happen to me, i'll be shootin' the crap out of some other player while he's shootin' back at me
then i run up 2 them 2 beat them down, but they beat me down first
i get killed like 10-13 times
it happens 2 me lots of times

all i can say is you gotta be quick. time your beat downs just right and you can beat them down every time. try beating them down a split second sooner than you usually do.

two main things: melee a tiiiny bit earlier (this normally comes with time/experience)
and also DO NOT underestimate the importance of shooting at the head! its vital in those situations!
while you get used to doing those you will probably die
but its worth it!
