Halo 3/ Xbox live problems help!!?

I have been playing halo 3 lately on xbox live,and it has been glitching a lot. Players wont die, respawn take Forever(the countdown stays at 5) and im randomly responding into different places?? Please help, tell me whats wrong and how i can fix it please!!!

You are probably lagging. That happens when you have a bad connection. Maybe get a new router or move your xbox closer to your router
