Hoe to Explode a Robot in Halo 3?

I know how to build them... but how do you explode them???

Watch at 1:30 and you well see the guy shooting the gravity lift as it turns red!!! How do you do that?

Just read the info of the Video:
"Note the scarab dosent really explode that was edited for those who thought it dose lol"

Lack of grammar aside, the "explosion" was just an edited video effect they did in a video editing software. Not in the real game.
