how do I get my EXP level higher in halo 3?

I've played like 5 matches and won them all and in most of them I get second place in most kills. and my EXP level is still 0. what am I doing wrong? I'm in social playlist in team slayer or whatever. what's going on?

you must win or tie a team game, come in the top 50% in a multi team game, and also in lone wolves or rumble pit.

Also keep in mind quitting or even lagging out both give you -1 exp, so you can have 0 or negative experience if you quit more than you win/tie. go to bungie.net and search for your gamertag and look at ratings to see how much negative experience you have and overall experienced gained.
