How do you pick up Halo 3 skulls?

I picked it up with RB but then what do I do with it?

Same way you pick up weapons. You can carry it around and melee with it, but I don't recommend it. I think if you switch weapons it drops it, I know Y does, once you pick it up you get the reward. I like to throw them over edges.
