how long will halo 3 be played online?

ok so i just got my 47 Brigadier in halo 3, and i heard halo 3 Odst is coming out in about a year.. will people still be playing halo 3??
how long until there is less than 100 people playing halo 3 online?

it was the most played game of 2008. i think both halo 3 and odst will be running the same server

It will be played by a ton of people for a very long time. Every time it starts getting the slitest bit boring, they get new maps and make it alot more fun. People will be on it until the next one (if there is one) comes out, and probably even longer.
