In halo wars i need a strategy to stop people from rushing what should i do?

take the offensive. I usually play as unsc because the unsc is stronger, while the covenant just uses more troops. First build around 3-4 supply pads and 1 reactor while building an elephant and scounting the area with the warthog, if you manage to find your opponent's position, he will be in panic because you now know where to send your forces and he doesn't. Build turrets in the direction of you enemy first, then build the ones in the back. Lock down the elephant and produce lots of anti infantry and a couple Spartans. Build up your technology tree and you should be safe.

Be any covenante character, build up turrets as fast as you can. Build shield generators, and try to deploy as many anti-vehicle or any other troops as you can. Build up defenses. Or try to sneak away to some other base. Make sure you don't waste the beginning of the game. Know what buildings you want when and build them immediatly.
