Is arranging a Halo 3 event every 2 weeks healthy?

My friends and I love Halo 3. So every 2 to 3 weeks, we decide to arrange a day-long meeting where we all clear our schedules to play Halo 3 everyday from 4 pm to about 11 or 12 at night.

The problem is that I found that some people decide to show up even when they should be studying for a test the day right after our event, then end up not doing too well at all.

Is it healthy to keep holding these events even though several of my colleagues are coming over instead of studying or helping a relative who's just out of surgery. Problem is, I sometimes don't know about it until later, and even when I know before, the others shrug it off and say they're coming no matter what.

So, should I keep doing it even though I now know it has hurt some people, or do I just put an end to it? (note: the two of us setting up the place and time always make sure it is convenient for us, and inform others a week or 2 in advance.)

My friends I don't play Halo, but we do a round robin tournament for college football. To whoever made the comment about not getting girls. Has no clue We're all married with HOT wives and kids. It's a way to ahng out the guys and not get into any trouble and it's cheaper than a bar or strip club.
