Both are totally different. In OSDT you play as a rookie dropped behind enemy lines and must search for your teammates. While in MW2 you have allies, in OSDT you are alone until you access a flashback which shows how your teammates died. When the flashback is accessed you play as that specific teammate until you see how he reached his horrible demise. MW2's story is when a new leader takes over Zachevs's place in COD4. You play as "Roach" and aid CPT. Soap (Soap was in COD4. He has been promoted) in taking out the Russians. On top of that you will play as other characters too. Both are FPS and has the "rechargeable health idea." Damage taken is different by difficulty. Online play though is where MW2 is well known for. OSDT gives you all the map packs of Halo 3's online play. OSDT also gives out a new mode called Firefight mode. It is like Gears of War 2's Horde mode. 4 people work together to survive a onslaught of enemies. Also OSDT (like all halo's do) has CO-OP. MW2 will have a CO-OP mode called Special Ops. Its a totally different campaign compared to the singleplayer version. Also Online play is same as COD4's. The idea of ranks and perks are still here. Weapons can be unlocked. Don't expect anything like Nazi Zombies from COD5 or a "Firefight Mode."

nothing like it because in ODST you actually play as a resistance sort of person and in MW 2 you play as a private and the two are completely different

Set before Halo 3, the main objective of ODST is for the player to search through the ruins of New Mombasa and discover what happened to his missing teammates. As the player drops in the ODST pod, the Prophet of Regret's ship is seen jumping into slipspace. After finding a piece of evidence left behind — a sniper rifle hanging on a lamppost, for example — a flashback is triggered and the player assumes the role of the missing soldier. After players find the first beacon, the choice of where to go next is up to the player. It will also include an option which, unlike other Halo games, will allow the player to play the campaign levels in any order they want to. Lead producer Curtis Creamer has stated that the campaign's length is similar to that of previous Halo games.

Modern Warfare 2 is set several years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4. The radical Russian Ultranationalist organization has returned to prominence under the leadership of Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev with his own ambitions. Makarov has publicized Zakhaev's death as an act of martyrdom to garner support for his cause, enabling him to build a strong power base in Russia over the years. Fearful of Makarov's growing influence, the global community established Task Force 141 to counter the threat posed by the resurgent Ultranationalists
