My halo 3 keeps reloading a new map in multiplayer then restarts and searchs again!!?

I got my 360 like a week ago and was playing halo3 on it and it worked fine. I don't do campign though ONLY multiplayer. My xbox live acct is good still and my xbox live works with other games...Every time i chose multiplayer, social slayer(anything for a matter of fact) it search for players...finds all players..then loads up to the point JUST BEFORE you can veto and closes and restarts a search...PLEASE HELPPPP. btw its a n arcade 360 but it was working just fine before!?

Most of the time that happens it is your Controller.

buy halo 3: ODST and it comes it comes with another halo 3 disc with all of the maps and multiplayer
