My son is 12 turning 13 and he wants halo 3 for his birthday, i don't know if it ok for him to play it since it is rated M. Bottom line is it a good game or not?
Halo 3 is a great game but shouldn't be for a 13 year old kid. If he was turning 15 or 16 then it would be fine for his age. Halo 3 does have some nudity, blood, language, violence, and other stuff. Online will have tons of 30 year old guys with no life sitting on the couch sexually harassing people and cursing non stop so Halo 3 is a bad choice for a 13 year old.
You should watch some Halo 3 gameplay videos on youtube so you can see what it's like for yourself. Then you can make an informed decision about whether or not you want your kid playing it.
There isn't too much blood and gore like in Gears of War (that game is vicious) and some occasional cursing can be heard in the single-player game, usually from teammates, including "s--t," "hell," and "damn." There are no "f--k"s. Multiplayer on the other hand has little kids cursing at you like sailors.
there is very little adult language and a lot of violence. I really think that if your son is mature enough (in his mind) he can get the game. It's kind of up to you to decide
