On Halo 3 how do u change the color of ur spartain on x-box live. ?

Press start in the matchmaking lobby then go right with the analog stick and select appearance.

Before you select enter in the matchmaking lobby, you can press Start to access a menu, from there I believe there's something like 'Appearance' where you can change lots of details concerning your avatar.

You can be a Spartan or an Elite.
You can wear different armor based on campaign achievements, or multiplayer experience.
You can change three set types of colors in your armor, two mains ones being 'Primary' and 'Secondary'.

This is also how you change your flag.
