plz tell me how to halo 3 kill ball?

How can i make a kill ball inactive so i can hide in it or just make a fake one on sand trap

its kinda really easy all you do is set down 1 of a good huge ball the place the kill ball over it mak sure the good ball is stiking out a lil or u will die
