Question about downloading Halo 3 Maps?

I just bought 2,800 points.
I want to play on Team Snipers and Team Swat. I need the maps though.
I've downloaded all the free ones. Now I'm not sure which ones to buy?

The legendary pack?
I just don't want to download them and get the wrong ones. Waste of 40 bucks then y'know?

Pretty sure that the other guys are right. When I last played (like in August or something) I couldn't play a good number of gametypes because I didn't have the Legendary map pack. I think the Heroic one is free.. but anyway, I prefer Halo 2 snipers and Swat to h3, besides the fact that there are superbounces and such in h2.

If you ever want to play this online sometime, you may send me an email via Yahoo's system and I may be able to get on.. probably mostly over X-mas break, or turkey break, if anything. Not sure if I still have an XBL account, but I could go on my brother's.

Most new types require the Legendary maps to play. Next to the game type it tells you what maps you need to play. i believe that those game types do need the legendary map pack.

If you want Team Snipers, Team Doubles, DLC Free For All or DLC Big Team battle you need the Legendary. Also some double xp weekend playlists need it. The Legendary is the only map pack you can buy for Microsoft Points currently. Early next year a new map pack is coming out so you can get that one too when It comes out.
