It means you are connecting to the game through them.
so if they leave the game finds another host vise versa

It means they are the one who started the game. The host is basically the leader of the game.
Halo randomly selects people in a room to HOST the match
(usually its whoever has the best internet signal)
the match is somewhat running on the signal of whoever is appointed host
and ppl say that their is a thing known as HOST ADVANTAGE which basically makes him slightly harder to kill but their is definitely not any disadvantages to being host
