What is the process for modding Halo 3 videos?

I've saw that you can 'mod' armor permutations in Halo 3 videos, and was wondering what exactly I need to do that? I know I need a transfer device (any suggestions?), the mod software (Mirage, got it), and also some way to put the files back on to your Xbox 360.

Does anybody (pref. with experience) know how to do this? Maybe a step by step process, or an instructional video? (I've noticed a few very vague ones on YouTube...
