What program is used to make Halo Campaign and Halo 3 Maps?

Hi I am an aspireing 3d designer, not really lol, but i want to work for bungie or activision when i am older. Mostly Bungie. I am going to be taking a class in Java at a UC over the summer and am wondering is this what they use to make halo? If not what do they use, i really want to get into this field when i am older as a 3D digital artist or whatever they are called, 3d game designer. Thanks anything is appreciated.

The 3d designers don't do the programming, they use all sorts of modeling, meshing and lighting software to design 3d environments. If you want to practice your 3d modeling skills download a program like blender or purchase 3DS max or maya or any of the other software available, I'm not a 3d designer so I don't know what's best.

If you want to get into the programming side then Java isn't what they use, but it's a good introduction language into programming, once you know one language well picking up others is not difficult at all. Even going between completely different languages is easy.
