I hear people talk about them 2 particular games all the damn time.
What's so good addictive about them?
And Gears Of War.

gears isn't looked at more because you actually have to think about what you are going to do, and plan with your teammates, halo 3 and call of duty are just fun to play with friends.

Because they are easy to party up and play with your friends. Not mention their leveling system is pretty deep and for the most part customizeable.
