why cant my xbox 360 read halo 3?

i got halo 3 a few days ago and it wont read right in my 360 it says "please put game in a xbox 360 console" all of my other games read fine this is the only one that wont the halo 3 game works in my friends 360 but not in mine.
please don't tell me a bunch of bull about getting a ps3 or halo 3 sucks it not worth it i just want to know why my game wont read in my xbox 360

Ok, first check the disc slide for dust or obstructions. If none are present call microsoft for more in depth analysis. Heres their number (1-800-4my-xbox).

I really feel sorry for you.im a halo 3 addict i would prob kill myself if it happened to me.I have no idea what the prob could be if ur other games are working fine.but just incase u should buy a laser cleaning disc and use it.i dont know what i can say i wish i could help you.Maybe u have an eror with ur saved halo 3 file maybe.You should delete ur old file even though u will lose the levels u passed in campain.but this should be ur last resort(just like the name of the map lol ^_^)

360, especially earlier models go bad.

Im sure you'v tried many times and tried wiping the disc... so perhaps its your drive in your 360. Buy a new drive for like 80$ or... buy a new 360. But id only buy a new drive... if you know how to take ur 360 apart and install it.'

Well, im not for sure, is your settings on you Xbox 360 Console have the thing where you cant play rated M games? If it is, change it.

hmmm. first i thought that the disc must be damaged or dirty but you said it plays on your friends xbox . . . idk, if i were you id just try cleaning the disc and the disc tray.
