After you find a skull in Halo 3, what do you do right after that?

I found some skulls, but Right after i pick it up i don't know what to do. do u have to commite suicide? or what? please help?!

Which skulls did you find? Did you find campaign skulls or mythic map skulls? I don't think that there is a difference between what you do for each one(which is continue what you were doing) but there might be so it is important to say which one that you found.
