can your armor get deleted in halo 3?

i just got the eod armor yesterday and when i whent back to play halo matchmaking it was gone for no apparent reason. im mad bacuse i worked hard for that and bungie or whoever is in charge of the armor cant take away something that is earned its just not fair!!!!!!!
