Do I need a Hard Drive on the Xbox arcade to play Halo 3 and other games

You dont need a hard drive to play the games but if you want to save anything then you do(or a memory card). You cant go online i believe without a gamertag profile and you can only have that with a memory storage device.

Yes you do.Hard drives allow you the capability of letting you play all the X-box games.Even the originals.So you can get Halo 3,Call of Duty,and any other game you want and it will work!

You can play the game without the hard drive but you wont be able to save any of your game play which is you might think is pretty damn important for any 1st action shooter game. You don't want to bust your butt trying to get through levels doing, say a Campaign, only to start all over again. It can be really frustrating. Trust me I know. I have two boys who found out the hard way. They were not happy campers.

No, you don't need a hard drive to play games like that, but I would strongly recommend getting one. I think that you do need a memory card for saves though. If you want a cheap hard drive, look on craigslist.

Yes you need a Hard Drive to save your data completed in these games. A memory stick also works, but hard drive for more memory.

No, but the games will run smoother. You will be able to save your games on the memory unit that is included with the console.
