Does Master Chief die, if not, then where is he going at the end of halo 3?

What happens to Master Chief at the end of halo 3.... or is it just up to our imagination? ^_^

Master Chief does not die, as you can see in the Legendary Ending.

Where is he?
Some say that he is going to a Marathon planet, others say it's a setup for a Halo 4.

It is juz a ENDING OF Halo 3

for one thing, there is not going to be a halo 4. The creators of halo may make games bases off its story line but halo itself ends at its trilogy. They might continue making add ons to the halo 3 game such as Recon and Halo Wars. Master Chief does not die, for all we know he could be retiring haha. It definately based off our imagination.

He gets put to sleep by Cortana in the spaceship and then wakes up in the future. That will lead into Halo Wars.

He's going off to sit on a rock and wait for Halo 4.

There will be no halo 4, halo wars is a prequel with the Spartan ones so before master chiefs time, bungie hasn't said anything directly but if you have read the halo books and played marathon their are some links their that point to the 2 being linked.
