It could be a mod because in halo when you jump your gun is still visible, but why do you care about halo 1 when halo 3 comes out in 17 days?

There is a third player that took the picture. Notice that the aiming sight is that of a shotgun, while the other players are holding assault rifles.
The third person probably jumped, or is standing on something, and cropped out the gun or perhaps has a mod to turn off his HUD.
