Halo 2 multiplayer help need it bad?

I am thinking of buying halo 2 for windows vista. I played halo3 at my friends house and i like how you can customize armor. Can you do that with halo 2??
Also do you have to pay to get windows live if u have vista

yes but not o the extent of halo 3
you can change the color, emblem and....that's really it
no new armor though(which is awesome!)
