Halo 3 and halo 3 ODST multiplayer Question?

SInce halo 3 ODST doesn't have any head to head combat for multiplayer. Does that mean people will still play halo 3 LIVE?
I wanna cuz im gunna buy 1 yr xbox live on december just for HALO 3 MLG... and i was wondering wheter or not it be a waste

It won't be. Halo 3 is 2 years old, and hundreds of thousands of people play it every day, and I can gaurentee that 2 years from now people will still be playing it. Atleast I know I will =).
