Halo 3 BETA?

What is BETA ?.....i see it in alot of things like halo 3 and other stuff .......i just want to konw what it is...

Well for exaple take firefox ( the internest browser) U will see there us 3 different versions, but in each o the different versions there is like firefox 1 beta 2 firefox 1 beta 3..........................until the newest one firfox 3 beta 5.. Ok so as u can see in a beta version, rather then completely making a new browser they just frther improve the one they made before. So in u'r case halo 3 might have ben at say 5/7 for graphics the beta might make it7/7 for grphics and maybe new levels added on too.
