Halo 3 Leveling Questions.?

Right now I have:

105 Ranked Matches
43 Social Matches

60 Total XP
Level 12 in Ranked TS

Since I have lost so many games due to Bungie's horrible matchmaking, I am wondering, is it going to be harder for me to level to 50, or is the leveling system of Halo 3 based on something else. Please let me know, as I'm a little ****ed. I almost always rank at the top of the leaderboard in TS, and everyone else has a negative KDR and doesn't know how to stick together to win a match. The matchmaking's not horrible, you just don't understand it. Leveling with EXP takes a long time. The quickest way to level up is to get a high High Skill Rating. You get this by having a relatively good kill/death ratio in most of your games. Level 50 will take a long time but just make sure to get a positive kill/death ratio every time you play.
*EDIT* Also I have 400 Ranked, 200 Social and am around level 32
