Halo 3 onlineplaying problems?

Ok, so when I go in to matchmaking and find a match and start the game, I can only play for like 2minutes, then it says everybody quits and I loose exp and skillpoints. Why? Is it because of my connection, is it because my NAT isn't open and how do I open it?
