halo 3 Ranger achievement?

I'm about to try and get the Ranger achievement but i dont know what skulls to put on and what difficulty
And it it better to do it on co-op?

i just used normal dificulty with 4 skulls i think they were blackeye iron, the enemy sheild one and the grenade one
