Halo 3 rank up questions?

i am currently a level 41 in lone wolves i was wondering if there is a set criteria for getting skill up like do you need to win 2 games in row every time? do things like who your playing against and game type matter? can you go up by taking second many consecutive times?

All those things do effect how you level up winning games in a row does help alot and also the the #place that you come matters not alot but a little. What matters is if you are in a higher place than someone that is a higher level than you at the end of the game showing that you got a better Kill/Death ratio than the level 49 below you. So keep doing what your doing now even if you are getting second place you are going to level up as long as you are winning and getting a good amount of kills
