halo 3 skulls?

i got the skull, but it didnt unlock the helmet for me... i did the 27 code and i did the short code got the rings to light up and the skull was there and when i save and quit i didnt unlock the skull? why?????

i dont know but i subcribe to games nation and i just recived an email conserning the halo 3 skulls maybe it will tell you something
