Halo 3 tips?

i just got halo 3 so im kind of a noob any tips for getting better?

Im a pretty good halo 3 player. My advice is to learn to time your gernade throws. gernades are a vital part of winning games whether it be slayer or any game type. secondly, know when to back down. if you are on a team but the rest of your team is somewhere else and you see 2 guys, dont just shoot them because they will easily double team u and kill you. if you do happen to be ambushed by a group, remember to try and use gernades to kill both of them. if you are about to die with no possible way of killing the person shooting you, chug a gernade so there is a possiblity of you killing them too.erm try and use vehicles on large maps because it will help you alot, it gives you the option of running away but vehicles are also lethal. be a team player and stick together. halo 3 is a lot of fun, and the key to winning is playing smart. thats it for me and good luck

The number 1 tip: Practice.

The number 2 tip: Don't scope before you aim to snipe. (example would be you're already zoomed in and looking for a target = wrong)

The number 3 tip: Master the grenade throw before charging in to battle (example: Don't go and start shooting anyone IF you have the opportunity to throw a grenade first!)

The number 4 tip: Communicate with your team. (example: You see your team mate about to be raped by a sword guy from behind but you have time to talk to him before he gets owned. TALK TO HIM.)

-aim for the chest with BR, then shoot 4 times. Instant kill.
-Avoid the sniper till you get good, let your teammates who are better use it.
-Find a shotgun, and camp with it for some easy kills- shoot it, and then immediately melee/punch for a guaranteed kill from close range.
-keep moving.
-in free for all games, stay back, and take potshots on people with your BR, or throw grenades into the fray for some easy kill steals.
-vehicles usually get killed very fast in power weapon maps (Spartan Laser, Rockets, Brute shot), careful when using them.
-Dual weild a Plasma Pistol and a Spiker whenever possible, because this combination kills extremely fast.


Also, this is the biggest one:
-Campaign first to get used to gameplay, then move onto social games with teammates, then social free-for-all games, then to ranked. This will ease you into the gameplay.

If you're sneaking around anywhere, stay crouched. It may be slow, but it erases you from the other teams radar, and this could be extremely effective with a sniper rifle or a shotgun.

Learn to use your assault rifle and your battle rifle well (try to learn to 4 shot [shooting them 4 times in the head with the battle rifle]). When all else fails, those 2 guns could be life savers.

Camp! ever if people get mad at you for it, its a good way to rack up points for yourself or your team, and its a legit strategy. This works best with a shotgun or Mauler.

Use combos! The best combos are charged plasma shot+BR shot, SMG+Plasma Rifle, Plasma Rifle+Pistol, Plasma Pistol+Pistol, etc etc. Use a plasma weapon to take down their shields, then a human weapon to put them down for good.

Communicate! Communication is key to winning a match. Talk with your team, and try not to insult them, no matter how good or bad they are.

Learn to drive the vehicles well. If you find a team mate with a flag in need of help, a good drive can always get them from point A to B. If not, you usually end up a smoldering pile of flesh at the side of the map.
