halo 3 weapon question?

Is the Battle rife or assult rifle the best like which one should i use as like my main wepon.

depends, battle rifle:zoom, slow firing, alot of power
Assault:fast fire, no zoom, bad damge
its your choice

i ALWAYS have one short range weapon and one medium or long range weapon except for Flood levels (floodgate, cortana) where i keep both short or medium range weapons.
