Halo 3 - "We're in for some chop"?

This is a question about the "We're in for some chop" achievement.

Just to remind you the "We're in for some chop" achievement is earned by "Destroying an enemy vehicle with equipment in a ranked playlist or in campaign".

My question is, what does it mean by "equipment" and how do I find/use it?

Damage it 'till it is smoking or flaming then destroy it with a powerful ram attack- like suiciding kamikaze style with ghost(at last second before smashing you drop bomb kills you both.)
