No, it just shows off how skilled you are at Campaign, Matchmaking, and how many specific acheivments you have. I currently have the Hybusa armor which means I collected all the skulls in Campaign

no you just unlock them to customize your character

i dont think they do. well bungie says that they dont. but that does not mean that they dont actually do anything. Im convinced that rank gives an advantage
