Help using push to talk on halo 3 using wireless headset?

hey, i brought a wireless headset, and i saw on halo 3 that you could use push to talk and you can. how can you set it up because it gets annoying when im playing and i dont want people to hear what im saying.

Just hit mute

There should be a mute button on ur headset or a volume botton just turn it down so no one can hear u.
