Halo Wars is okay, but it's probably one of the most watered-down RTS games I've seen to date.

They had to simplify the game quite a bit so that it would work on a console. That being said, for a console RTS, it's pretty good. Controls are still somewhat awkward, but surprisingly intuitive. Graphics can be a little chuggy sometimes and the lack of texture fidelity annoys me.

Pretty much... if you're a serious Halo fan (like I am) and like RTS games (which I mostly only play on PC), then Halo Wars seems like a good choice.

I would recommend your downloading the demo of Halo Wars to see for yourself.

Personally, I got bored of it quite quickly... however that seems to be the trend with me these days.....

I have it, completed it, loved it.

So easy to use and command your unit and build bases.

Also good in co-op over live!

If i hadn't got it, i would now

The average score for Halo Wars is 82% as can be seen here:

Halo Wars is still a good game though. If you're a big Halo fan like me you would be pleased be to see that the graphics, sound, and story are very much like the Halo trilogy. The cut scenes are very well done, the story is interesting and everything looks, moves and sounds like a Halo game except there is one big problem.

The problem is the actual gameplay and gameplay is the most important part of a game. This is a strategy game and the problem is that to finish the game you don't need to use any starategy whatsoever. You can just blast through the entire game without putting any though into what you're doing which isn't a lot of fun, making the game very simple.

So, I'm not going to convince you to buy Halo Wars because it's really not worth your money or time.

Halo Wars is nowhere near EndWar. It's camera angles and gameplay controls are completely different.

You start with a base, and you have to build it up. Everything you purchase is bought with Supplies.

So to be able to buy items, you need several Supply Pads.

A Reactor is something I'm not sure of, but it allows you to purchase things that are alot better and improve infanty and vehicles more.

Then you have to build a Barracks which produces Infantry such as Marines, Spartans, Flamethrowers, and you can upgrade these units so they're better in combat.

For example, you can upgrade the Spartans from using Chain Gun Turrets to Spartan Lasers. And the Marines can not only upgrade to using Rocket Launchers, but they can upgrade to ODST's which crash into the ground in a Pod and immediately get into action wherever you choose them to land.

You'll need Vehicle Depot which'll produce Scorpion Tanks, Rhino Tanks and Wolverines which are all used for their own qualities.

Also there's an Air Pad which produces Hornets, and Vultures etc. They're amazing!

When you play as the Covenant, you can get Scarabs! It's truly amazing.

You say you checked out the Demo for EndWar, there's a Demo for Halo Wars. Check it out, but be warned, the real Game is far better than the Demo.

Your first impressions cant be trusted.

If you're unsure, borrow it off a friend first like I did.
