How do I create multiple profiles on Halo 3?

I want to do a multiplayer campaign with a friend, but I can't figure out how to create a second character profile for my friend. How do I do this?

just create a profile for him from the xbox 360 menu before u play halo 3, then when u go in halo 3 and do a local game it will have his profile.

from the 360 menu press the big x button in the middle of your controller and there will be an option to create a new profile.
