How is Bungie going to pick up the story of Halo 3?

We all know that there will NOT be Halo 4. But then where does the story go? They simply cannot leave Master Chief heading toward a planet and not let us know what happens.

Are they just going to release another book to end the series, or will we see another game? If another game, what will it be called since it wont be Halo 4?

Halo wars is coming out, but I think this storyline is for BEFORE Combat Evolved (Halo 1).
