how to move up ranks in halo 3?

What is the easiest way to move up ranks in halo 3 is social slayer or lone wolves which gives more?

They both give ranking points equally. Team just means other people can help you or screw you over. Choose teammates wisely. For every win in social slayer and lone wolves, you get one experience point towards your ranking.

You have to lose 3-4 matches to lose one experience point. So, even if you only win half your games, you'll move up pretty quick.
